Dorking Dog Tails – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Dorking Dog Tails, including dog day care and home boarding. By booking with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the following terms, which are in place to ensure a safe, professional, and caring environment for every dog in our care.

1. Registration & Initial Visit

All clients must register before their first booking. Before confirming any services, we’ll arrange a friendly meet-and-greet at our home with you and your dog(s). This allows us to get to know each other and ensure your dog feels comfortable, ensuring it is a good fit for our care environment.

2. Dog Suitability & Behaviour

We welcome friendly, sociable dogs who enjoy being around other dogs and people. All dogs must be non-aggressive and have basic training to help them settle smoothly.
If your dog has ever shown signs of aggression or concerning behaviour, please let us know — this helps keep everyone safe.
If your dog’s behaviour changes at any point, we ask that you inform us.
Should your dog become aggressive or uncontrollable during their stay, we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately. A muzzle or crate may be used temporarily, but only when necessary and always with the dog’s well-being in mind.

3. Health & Vaccinations

At Dorking Dog Tails, the health and safety of all dogs is our priority.

Required Vaccinations (proof must be provided before the first visit):
• Canine Distemper
• Canine Parvovirus
• Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus)
• Leptospirosis
• Kennel Cough (Infectious Tracheobronchitis)

Note: The Kennel Cough vaccine must be administered at least 72 hours (ideally 2 weeks) before boarding.

Flea & Worm Treatment:
Dogs must receive regular flea and worm treatment using a vet-approved product. Please provide details at registration.

Unwell Dogs:
If your dog has recently undergone surgery or is exhibiting signs of illness (e.g., coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea, discharge, or skin issues), please keep them at home until they are fully recovered. Unwell dogs will not be accepted to protect the health of all animals in our care.

If you’re unsure whether your dog is fit to attend, please don't hesitate to contact us for guidance.

4. Safety & Equipment

All dogs must arrive with a secure, well-fitting collar and lead. Your dog should remain on the lead at all times outside your vehicle and during handover to ensure safety for all dogs, clients, and neighbours.

5. Emergencies & Veterinary Care

In the event of illness or injury, we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately. If urgent veterinary care is required and we can’t reach you, we will act in the best interest of your dog and take them to our registered vet.
All vet costs are the owner’s responsibility.

6. Payment & Booking Policy

Boarding (3 days or more):
• A non-refundable £50 deposit is required at booking.
• The balance is due two days before the start date.

Boarding (less than 3 days) & one-off day care:

7. Liability & Responsibility

While we take every reasonable precaution, you acknowledge that dog care comes with inherent risks.
By using our services, you accept these risks and agree not to hold Dorking Dog Tails liable for injuries, losses, or damages resulting from your dog’s behaviour.
Owners are financially responsible for any damage their dog causes to other dogs or property, including veterinary fees.

8. Photography & Marketing

We may occasionally take photos or videos of your dog while they are with us. These may be used on our website, social media platforms, or in marketing materials.
All images remain the property of Dorking Dog Tails, but we’re happy to share copies with you upon request.

9. Other Important Notes

• We do not accept unneutered dogs or unspayed bitches over 12 months of age.
• Please respect agreed drop-off and pick-up times — repeated lateness may affect future bookings.
• For the privacy of our home and neighbours, all handovers take place at the front door.
• We do our best to create a secure environment, but we cannot guarantee your dog will never escape.
