  • 🛡 Are you insured?
Yes! Dorking Dog Tails is fully insured to care for your dog professionally.
  • 🐶 How many dogs do you care for at once?
We care for a maximum of four dogs at any one time. This helps us give each pooch the individual attention they deserve.
  • 🐾 Do you walk dogs off-lead?
We will assess your dog’s recall and behaviour only with your written permission. Off-lead walks are always in secure, quiet areas where we feel confident it’s safe.
  • 🤝 How do you ensure my dog will get on with others?
We only accept friendly, sociable dogs. Our initial assessment helps us understand your dog’s temperament and suitability for group care. Our careful vetting means fallouts are extremely rare.
  • 🏠 Where will my dog stay?
Your dog stays in our family home, not in kennels. They’ll enjoy a cosy, relaxed environment with plenty of love, playtime, and snuggles – a true home-from-home experience.
  • 📅 Does my dog need to attend regularly?
Not at all. Some dogs come daily, others once a week or just every so often. We do recommend a weekly visit to help your dog stay familiar with us and the pack.
  • 🐕 Do you accept puppies?
Yes – we welcome puppies from 14 weeks old, as long as they are fully vaccinated, wormed, and house-trained. Puppies benefit from structured routines, gentle socialisation, and basic training. We require all dogs to be neutered or spayed by 12 months to continue attending.
  • ✂ Does my dog have to be neutered/spayed?
Yes – dogs must be spayed or neutered from 12 months old to stay with us. We’re unable to make exceptions.
  • 🎓 Do you offer dog training?
We’re not dog trainers, but we do reinforce basic good behaviour like sit, stay, leave it, and recall. Many owners notice their dogs become more responsive and well-behaved with regular visits due to our consistent, structured routine.
  • 💊 Can you give my dog medication?
Yes, we’re happy to administer medication prescribed by your vet. We’ll need clear instructions including the medication name, dosage, frequency, and what it’s treating.
  • 🚨 What happens in an emergency?
Your dog’s safety is our top priority. If something urgent arises, we’ll contact you immediately. We’ll go to your nominated practice or our local vet if vet care is needed. We keep emergency contact details, veterinary info, and medication requirements on file.
  • 🗓 What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans change. There's no charge if you cancel by 5 pm at least two days before your booking. Cancellations made after this time will incur a full service fee.
  • ⏰ What if I'm late collecting my dog?
A late collection fee of £5 per hour applies for late pick-ups.
